PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

Scam warning: fake accounts impersonating Dr Fairleigh Reeves

Last updated: 20th October 2026

We have become aware of fake social media accounts, on Facebook, that are impersonating Dr Fairleigh Reeves. These accounts use AI-generated images designed to look like Dr Reeves. They are being used to sell erectile dysfunction treatments.

These accounts are not operated by Dr Reeves or Urology Specialist Care. We have reported them to Meta (Facebook), Scamwatch and the relevant regulatory authorities.

We learned of this scam because several patients contacted our rooms to ask about the products. Thank you to everyone who contacted us.

What Dr Reeves and our practice will never do:

  • Prescribe or recommend treatment without a proper consultation.

  • Sell medicines, supplements or treatments through social media, messaging apps or online shops.

  • Contact you on social media to offer treatment.

How to spot a fake account:

  • The account is new, has few genuine posts, or has comments turned off or filled with similar-sounding praise.

  • It promises fast, guaranteed or “miracle” results, or offers “doctor-approved” products with no consultation.

  • Videos look slightly unnatural: lip movements out of sync, an unusual voice, odd lighting or blurred edges.

  • It pressures you to buy quickly (“limited stock”, “today only”) or moves you to a private chat or external website.

  • Links lead to a website that is not our official website.

Our only official online presence is: www.urologysc.com.au

We do not operate any social media accounts.

If you see a suspicious account or advertisement

  1. Do not click links, buy anything, or share personal or payment details.

  2. Take a screenshot of the account, post or advertisement, including the account name and web address if visible.

  3. Report it to the platform. On Facebook, open the profile or page, select the three dots (…), choose “Report”, and select the option for impersonation (pretending to be someone).

  4. Report it to Scamwatch at scamwatch.gov.au.

  5. Report unlawful advertising of medicines to the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) at tga.gov.au.

  6. Let us know by calling 9428 2844 or emailing admin@urologysc.com.au. This helps us track and report fake accounts.

If you have already paid or shared your details:

  1. Contact your bank or card provider immediately. Ask them to stop or reverse the payment and to watch your account.

  2. If you shared personal information (such as your Medicare number, driver’s licence or date of birth), contact IDCARE, Australia’s free identity and cyber support service, on 1800 595 160 or at idcare.org.

  3. Report the loss through ReportCyber at cyber.gov.au and to Scamwatch at scamwatch.gov.au.

  4. Change any passwords you may have shared and be alert to follow-up contact. Scammers often target people a second time, sometimes pretending to help recover lost money.

Looking for genuine help with erectile dysfunction?

Erectile dysfunction is common and treatable, and it can sometimes be an early sign of other health conditions such as heart disease or diabetes. The safest first step is to speak with your GP, who can assess you properly and refer you to a specialist if needed.

If you would like to see Dr Reeves, please ask your GP for a referral and contact our rooms on 9428 2844. Our staff will never ask you to buy products online.

Not sure if something is genuine?

If in doubt, contact us directly using the details on this website, not the details provided in a message or advertisement. Call us on: (03) 9428 2844 or email admin@urologysc.com.au. We would much rather you check than risk being scammed.
